Early this September, I was asked by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to join Team In Training, a group of runners for various athletic events. Though I had never been much of a runner, this is when I added 'Run A Marathon' to my list of personal goals. My name is Jason Parker, I have been learning about and practicing garden nursery and small landscaping projects since the age of 16. Now that it is my second year in college studying business, I am interested in applying my skills to many more gardens by advertising in an attempt to expand my service into a legitimate company one day. The gardening services I can provide are dead-heading, weeding, mulching, pruning, planting/transplanting, scheduled watering, edging around mulched flower beds or around trees etc., hedge trimming, and much more, as every garden is unique and can require specialized jobs. The landscaping projects I have completed include installing interlocking brick borders, stepping stones, removing borders, and working with retainer wall bricks. I possess a plethora of knowledge pertaining to plant nursery, so you may take comfort in knowing that I do know the names of and how to seasonally care for many types of common garden annuals and perennials such as day lilies, roses, coral bell, hydrangeas, hostas, ornamental grasses, bulbs, cone flowers, ground cover, peonies, chrysanthemums, prickly pears, phlox, and asters. I can accurately distinguish between plants and I know which ones are weeds and which are not. I also know how big certain plants get and how much sun they need. I am always learning more about new plants and I am confident that my scope of knowledge has become large enough to qualify me to take the next steps in my business plan.
Because expansion is possible in the future I feel it is important for me to mention that as of now I am the only one who will be working but if enough people are interested in my services, I will train and hire employees as needed and they will be sent to selected locations based on the job. I currently charge $15.00 and hour for gardening and $20.00 an hour for landscaping. My main customer base consists of people who have been gardening for many years and know a lot. They have taught me everything and they are very particular about how nice their gardens look. I always apply their high standards and my own to every customer of mine.
In this stage of business I have a car and not a truck which means that I have my tools on hand but I cannot haul yard waste or pick up landscaping materials, which has not been a problem for the customers I have worked for so far. However, a truck will surely be obtained when the time comes for hiring employees. I also cannot do any snow shoveling because my car will get stuck but business slows in the winter so I am certainly open to helping with anything else you may need during the cold season.

Christmas tree lights Question (nw omaha)

Maybe someone can help or direct me to some help about my Christmas lights. We have a string of 20 small lights that we know are 39 years old. The string is fastened to a board on which jewelry and other trinkets are placed to make a jewelry Christmas tree. So, replacing the string with a new one would be a big deal. We tried to replace some new bulbs for the old ones but it does not stay lighted very long and it smells hot. I suspect that the old wiring from 1970 carried more current than the new ones of today. I am wondering if the old wiring current is too strong for the new bulbs which causes the heating. The plug on the old wiring says "15 amp 125 v." Can I still get the proper bulbs that would work in this old wiring setup and if so, where could I get the bulbs? The newer bulbs I put in said "2.5 to 3.5 a." Can someone give me some direction? The Christmas Jewelry Tree is a cherished family piece that we would like to restore. If we cannot get the proper bulbs, where could I find a string with 20 lights? Could I just chop a string of 50 lights down to 20? The bulbs I am describing are made of glass of different colors and are about five eights of an inch long. These bulbs have two tiny wires that come out of one end and are then bent up around the holder. These bulbs then fit into the receptacles. Lost Toshi at the park when he pulled away from his leash. He might be mistaken for a german shepard puppy or a huskey puppy. But he is a 2 year old shiba inu who is black and tan.
He was wearing a red harness and leash with tags. He is a very shy dog. He is small. About 25lbs.
This all happened at about 5:15pm or so, at 132nd and Pacific at the park on the corner. If you have seen him, please let us know!

I know I will probably get a million nasty rude comments about this posting but here goes. I never thought things would actually get this bad for us but well it's just been a tough year I lost my job after being diagnosed with cancer and we had been living off of my husbands income and he fell at work and tore his acl in his knee and damaged other tendons in his knee and won't be able to go back to work full time for a while. We looked on craigs list last year and the year before and found posts similar to mine asking for help and adopted a family for the last 2 years and the year before adopted a family from the angel tree at wal mart and now well we are needing the help ourselves whether it's new or used kids toys DVDs clothes anything I know my older 2 will understand and my youngest this will be his first Christmas so I guess he's too young to really know but I have a 5 year old boy who believes in Santa and in school they are already talking about what Santa is gonna bring and about how they will be writing letters to Santa and I don't want to let him down.. So if anyone can please help please contact me even if you have used items you just want to get rid of it's still new to them they will be happy just to get something I have a 13 year old girl 14 year old boy 5 year old boy and 1 year old boy if you have items age appropriate I would even pay for them if need be if it's cheap thank you very much
