<description><![CDATA[SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Java software developer on Integrated Strategic Planning & Analysis Network (ISPAN) Nuclear Planning & Execution System (NPES) IPT at USSTRATCOM. Responsibilities require software requirements analysis, software design, development and maintenance of the NPES applications. The candidate should have the ability to recognize software problems, develop creative solutions for simple to complex tasks, and to manage multiple tasks and apply corrective actions. <br>

The applicant must be able to prepare work estimates, schedule inputs and generate metric data in support of program management and support system level test procedures. The applicant must have a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle. Interface with both internal and external customers are required. The candidate must be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision.<br>
<br>
STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.<br>
<br>
Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.<br>

REQUIRED SKILLS: -<br>
* Java/J2EE programming skills<br>
* Advanced Web development skills <br>
* Experience with SQL queries and databases<br>
* Must be capable of interfacing with and maintaining excellent rapport with government NPES user community<br>
* A Top Secret Clearence is also required<br>
<br>
DESIRED SKILLS:<br>
* USSTRATCOM NPES experience as a developer or system administrator<br>
* Experience with ADA, FORTRAN and/or C programming languages is a plus<br>
* Experience working with EDB database <br>
* Experience with JBoss application server<br>
* Experience with EJBs<br>
* Experience with ESRI products and CJMTK<br>
* Experience with various scripting languages, usage and modification<br>
