When the placards became obsolete for usage on the planes, we cut the Union Pacific shields from these placards and placed them on the doors of our rental cars when traveling on Company business; this helped us identify ourselves as Union Pacific employees. I worked at the UPRR for 33 years and traveled the system frequently.
