1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am – 5-Speed – T-Tops – ~85k miles – Clean Title
$20,000 OBO – Omaha, NE (Bellevue)
Selling my ’85 Trans Am, dark red with black trim. 5-speed manual, 305 V8, approx. 85k miles, clean title, no accidents. Runs great and sounds amazing. Not in a rush to sell, putting out feelers.
---
HIGHIGHTS:
5-speed manual
305ci V8
Newer World Class T5 transmission ($3,000 upgrade)
Original GM T-tops (and leather cover!)
Custom dual exhaust tips (great sound)
Newer tires (extra alloy rims added in sale)
CD player + solid speakers
4th-gen Firebird mechanical sliding seats (front)
Solid frame
---
CONDITION (Honest Details):
It’s a 40-year-old car, so not perfect, but overall a very mechanically strong driver. The "clean-up" body work was next on my list since I finished the mechanics and interior.
Body/Cosmetic:
Smaller dings/scrapes
Driver's mirror knocked off (motor still works, mirror included, just a snapped screw that happened recently)
Loose driver's side vent
Rims could use refinishing/replacement (tires are good, but I have you covered for rims down below!)
Dash top is cracked, currently covered by a custom-fit dash cover, looks very nice
Known Rust:
Quarter-sized rust hole in undercarriage under rear passenger seat
Some small rust holes in the underneath rear passenger wheel well
Frame itself is VERY solid and in great condition
Mechanical:
Runs smooth, runs loud, runs great
Amazing-sounding engine
Minor timing adjustment needed when downshifting from 4th to 3rd (easy fix)
Shifts well with the newer world class T5 transmission and newer clutch
---
EXTRAS (ALL included with the car):
Full spare inner dashboard with excellent wiring (white backsplash gauge variant)
TONS of extra interior parts, large and small
Extra set of 4 rims (partially plasti-dipped, 1980's set I found by surprise, MAY be RS or Compmotive, mesh style, light alloy, gorgeous really)
Misc. spare components I collected while restoring it, all parts that fit
Great bundle for anyone wanting to finish interior restoration or customize. The hardest work is done. SUPER fun to drive.

Why Selling:
Love the car and hate to let it go, but I need to rebuild savings. Looking for a good home and a fair offer now that she's hit her 40-year mark. Current listings this year for this model with like-mileage:
10k - floor, project
15-18k - rough-to-average condition
18-22k - good condition
22-24k - great condition
25k+ - like new
Since the issues are all very fixable, cosmetic/body issues, and since there are new expensive upgrades (transmission, exhaust, etc) with the lower mileage and solid frame, I set it in the mid of "good".

PRICE:
$20,000 OBO
Open to reasonable offers. No lowballers.
Feel free to ask for pictures of anything!
(I'm in the process of moving, so as I recall things, I may edit this post with new details, such as more accurate mileage).
