C1 is hiring a Cook I for a contract-to-hire opportunity in DeKalb, IL 60115. This full-time role pays $19.57/hour with overtime at $27.40/hour. Schedule is 6:00am–2:30pm, 40 hours per week. The initial assignment runs 07/20/2026 through 09/23/2026, with potential to continue or convert based on performance and business need.
You’ll accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold menu items across multiple meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events.
- Prepare, portion, and cook hot and cold items to recipe and spec
- Set up, stock, and maintain your station for timely service
- Plate and present dishes consistently; support catered and special events
- Follow production sheets, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; complete opening/closing tasks
- Collaborate with the team to meet quality and service timelines
Requirements:
- Able to work 6:00am–2:30pm, 40 hours weekly, with occasional overtime
- Reliable attendance, teamwork, and clear communication
- Prior commercial kitchen or line-cook experience preferred
