This antique fold-out, rectangular oak puzzle box is for a Singer treadle sewing machine, all made in the United States in 1889. The velvet-lined box is in great condition and has been well preserved over the years, making it a wonderful addition to any collection of sewing memorabilia. It's great how all the attachments fold into the box. All the attachment clips are present.

These attachments fit into a fold-out rectangular wooden box elegantly lined with velvet. Each accessory has its own niche in the box, such that they will all fit together into the small space of the folded-up box. The box was invented in 1888 by John M. Griest, a Singer employee who was awarded a US patent for his design; box is marked 'Patented February 19, 1889'.
