Sturdy and solid. Incredible woodworking. All joints are tight. Beautiful rich colors in shades of nutmeg, honey and cinnamon. Fine wood grain. Original patina. Very minor wear, scuffs, scratches, discoloration from normal everyday use.

This model of Cushman Colonial Creations chair is called their Searsburg Round Post No. 5-82 and has their "Antique" style finish

Colonial Revival style hardwood furniture designed by Herman DeVries

Made mid century between 1933-1964 in Bennington, Vermont. A 1937 Cushman catalog shows this model.

36" high (floor to top of finials)
28.5" wide
19" deep front to back
16" from floor to top of seat in the front and 12-13" in the back

The seat is wide, sits low to the floor and slants to the back (see photos).

The back angles slightly backward and has the Windsor style variation of the comb back, cattail, or arrow back construction.

Very comfortable and relaxing chair with a spacious carved saddle style seat, wide paddle arm rests, cattail spindles, round finials, and rounded edges all around.

Fine high-quality carved and turned woodworking and joinery, made from thick 100% solid hard rock maple wood, no metal hardware or fasteners
