This is a beautiful looking, easy playing and sounding vintage mid 60's- mid 70's 70's era Crown K-1classical guitar made in Japan with a TKL gig bag. The guitar plays very easy and sounds great. A very resonate body and it projects well. A good upper level commercial classical guitar for that time. This Crown guitar was produced in the reputable Matsumoku guitar factory. The body is a beautiful, quality grade, rosewood laminate inside and out. The top is laminated spruce. Mahogany neck with a rosewood dark ebony stained fingerboard. This model comes with inlaid wood purfling and dark rosewood binding. Original* tuners are in good working order. Rosewood bridge firmly attached. Has a rosewood headstock cap.
This is the upper end classical for "Crown and Crown Professional guitars that were made in Japan and distributed in the USA by Crown City Imports of Pasadena. In the period from 1963 to 1973 Crown City Imports offered a range acoustic, electric and bass guitars as well as amplifiers and drums made by various Japanese factories."
This is a higher end vintage Crown classical in very good of condition. They don't surface very often anymore for sale.
TKL gig bag. Zippers work properly, no rips, tears or odors.
This vintage guitar is very easy to play. Neck is straight, no wear or buzzing on the frets. I did have to replace a damaged tuner roller* and a second roller is not an original either. The tuners are still tight and smooth turning. The bridge, neck joint and all the internal bracing is solid. Lightly built top with a 7 fan brace pattern that result in a very resonate top. It has a bone nut and a plastic saddle. There are very few nicks and scuffs you would expect for 50 plus year old guitar, nothing that effects the sound or durability. I cleaned and buffed the finish and applied a coat of Renaissance Wax to the shine it up.
This is a good chance to buy a beautiful vintage era instrument at a reasonable price. Check on line for reviews. Please do your own research.
Strings are not new, but hold tune. You can put a new set of your own personal preference. I polished the frets, cleaned and reconditioned the fingerboard.
An excellent second guitar for your softer music mode.
This should take the "guitar" out of the learning equation if you're just getting started. Or if you are looking to have as a second for friends to play.
I would not recommend this for a beginner, there are plenty of beginner level guitars that you can choose and learn on at a non vintage price.
