Midwest Global Solutions LLC is seeking a Software Developer in Omaha, NE (may telecommute from home residence anywhere in the U.S. up to 100% of the time). Position duties: Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose, following clean architecture and best practices. Implement complex Android features with a focus on performance, stability, and reliability in production environments. Apply strong Java fundamentals, including understanding of JVM behavior, concurrency, and memory management, to build efficient and scalable solutions. Analyze and troubleshoot application issues using execution traces, logs, and runtime diagnostics, including scenarios with limited source-level visibility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance application quality, security, and user experience. Assist in malware reverse engineering efforts by analyzing obfuscated code and native libraries to understand threat mechanisms and evasion techniques. Develop basic automation and instrumentation tools to support testing, debugging, and security analysis. Document technical findings clearly for engineering and security stakeholders. Contribute to building resilient, abuse-resistant Android systems by incorporating secure coding practices and platform hardening techniques.
Position requires a bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in computer science, computer and information technology, or a related field and 2 years’ experience in an IT-related position. Experience must include the following specific experience and skills:
• 2 years’ experience analyzing and troubleshooting application issues using execution traces, logs, and runtime diagnostics, including scenarios with limited source-level visibility.
• 2 years’ experience in performing static and dynamic analysis of Android APKs to identify security risks, malicious behaviors, and potential vulnerabilities.
