Do mobile-based training exercises help people with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder lessen their symptoms, learn new ways of thinking, and improve social functioning?
Researchers Posit Science are currently conducting a remote research study entitled "Creating Live Interactions to Mitigate Barriers (CLIMB): A Mobile Intervention to Improve Social Functioning in People with Schizophrenia."
Our goal is to evaluate whether an experimental software program can improve social abilities, symptoms and quality of life in persons diagnosed with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Your participation may last up to four months. We will ask you to complete (3) remote sessions: an initial eligibility interview to determine if you are qualified to participate in the study. If you are eligible and agree to continue, you will complete two additional remote sessions: (1) before and (1) after the intervention. We will be evaluating two different computerized interventions. You will be randomly assigned to an intervention, where you will engage remotely with different study applications for about 3 hours each week completing exercises on your mobile device, participating in virtual support group discussions, and peer-to-peer social networking for about 9-weeks.
All study activities will be conducted remotely at no cost to the participant.
